Location:
Evanston, IL
Completion Date:
2017
Industry: Higher Education

Project Overview: The Kellogg School of Management’s main building, the Global Hub, is a five-story, 415,000-square-foot structure designed by KPMB Architects. It’s located on the Evanston campus along Lake Michigan, and features flexible, adaptable spaces for learning and collaboration. The building incorporates two atriums, the Collaboration Plaza and the Faculty Summit, which serve as central gathering points for students, faculty, and visiting leaders.

Design Highlights: This beautiful educational facility sits on the shore of Lake Michigan in Evanston IL just north of downtown Chicago. On this project Tuttle provided interior glass and shoe railings and a stainless steel post supported system on the exterior terraces. The glass shoe had to be cut, mitered and welded to follow the treads and risers on the side of the learning stair. All the glass at the learning stair had to be “saw tooth” cut to sit in the glass base shoe. The buildings shape and profile are similar to a four-leaf clove which means this job had significant amount of rolled glass shoe and bent glass panels which really drives the complexing level. The finished railing product tuned out amazing!
